Happy 11th birthday, Sega Dreamcast!

Eleven years ago today, the Sega Dreamcast was released in North America. To celebrate the Dreamcast’s 11th birthday, I’ve recorded and uploaded gameplay videos of three of my favorite Dreamcast games: Project Justice, REZ, and Super Puzzle Fighter II X For Matching Service.

  1. Rez is one of the most amazing games I’ve ever played for any system. They *need* to do another one. It doesn’t even need a story. They can just release add-on levels for the original if they want, sort of like Metal Gear Solid did with the VR Missions release.

    • Agreed.

Fortunately, Tetsuya Mizuguchi is hard at work on Child of Eden, which was featured during Ubisoft’s E3 2010 conference. I vaguely remember reading that Child of Eden is considered a spiritual successor to REZ rather than a sequel, but given that one of the code names for REZ during development was Project Eden, Child of Eden may as well be a proper sequel.

Now here’s hoping the Playstation 3 features optional Move controls.
