If you have a software firewall installed, verify that the ports listed are open on the software firewall as well.

Reading up on the WiiBrew site would probably yield an answer, but I can take a shot at helping. Are you using a specific application (like Homebrew Browser) when you receive the error? Is there any specific error code?

My Wii is trying to connect to retrieve the homebrew list, and it keeps repeating over and over again that is is attempting connectiona nd the connection is established. But nothing happens after, it is going through severel attempts but nothing is happening… What do I do now?

I don't think I'll be able to be much help as I'm not familiar with a Homebrew List file. You might try a Google search or browse the WiiBrew web site.

If you do not have a network connection hold 1 to enter offline mode. But I am having trouble with the Homebrew List file can you help??

If I’m understanding your question correctly, you’re asking if it matters whether the connection is wired (through a USB LAN adapter) or wireless.

I believe either type of connection will work, though I’ve never used a Wii LAN adapter, so I can’t say with certainty.

I posted the solution for the “Unable to initialize network” error before the arrival of Wii USB loaders, so, unfortunately, I can’t be of much help. I’d recommend searching for the exact error message you receive using Google. There are a number of great web sites dedicated to Wii homebrew and you’ll likely find answers there.
